Microsoft Sam WAV Download Generator
Create a SAM-style voice clip and choose the WAV format your project needs: the original 22.05 kHz / 8-bit sound, 44.1 kHz / 16-bit for audio work, or 48 kHz / 16-bit for video. Preview and download the selected format here.
Type one short line, preview it, then download the WAV.

Put each take on its own line, then download separate WAV files with the current voice and settings.
Download a file that fits your destination
Type one short sentence and leave the SAM preset at its default settings for the first take. In WAV export format, choose Original, Audio projects or Video projects. Click Generate, listen to the full ending, then click Download WAV. The filename records the selected format so you can distinguish the exports.
The audio is generated in your browser from your text. No microphone recording or software installation is required. A WAV download is the spoken clip, not an installer or the original Microsoft Sam voice files.

Use Original when you want the engine's unconverted output. Use 44,100 Hz / 16-bit when an audio project asks for that format, or 48,000 Hz / 16-bit when a video timeline requires 48 kHz. Check the destination's actual import requirements before choosing; these names are convenient starting points, not universal rules.
The higher-rate options resample the same 22,050 Hz, 8-bit source and store it as 16-bit PCM. They keep the duration and pitch. They do not remove the retro grain, restore missing frequencies, or make the synthesis more detailed. The classic baseline and converted sample use the same text and voice settings so you can compare the file formats directly.

| Export choice | Sample rate / bit depth | Approximate size for 10 seconds |
|---|---|---|
| Original | 22,050 Hz / 8-bit, mono PCM | 215 KiB |
| Audio projects | 44,100 Hz / 16-bit, mono PCM | 861 KiB |
| Video projects | 48,000 Hz / 16-bit, mono PCM | 938 KiB |
System ready. Proceed to platform three.Speed 72 · Pitch 64 · Mouth 128 · Throat 128
The classic baseline converted to mono 48,000 Hz, 16-bit PCM for video projects. The conversion retains the source duration and pitch; it adds no new voice detail.
Load this exampleExport a set of lines in one format
Put one prompt on each line, choose the output format once and open Batch line rendering. The batch saves separate WAV files using the current voice, four synthesis parameters and chosen format. The tool accepts up to twelve non-empty lines within the 900-character input limit.
For a scene, try System ready. on the first line, Access granted. on the second, and Proceed to platform three. on the third. Your browser may ask permission to download several files. If it blocks the batch, save the same lines individually. The numbered filenames preserve the order; rename them to event names such as terminal_open.wav before adding them to your project.
Keep the script, settings and format together
Start at Speed 72, Pitch 64, Mouth 128 and Throat 128. If you change the script or format after listening, Generate creates a new preview and Download WAV renders the current input. The page clears the old preview when those choices change, so a previous take is not presented as the current one.
Copy Link saves the text, preset, four parameters and export format. Keep it beside your file when revisions are likely. For versioned assets, use a name such as terminal-open-s72-p64-48000-16-v02.wav. A project can then replace the audio without losing the recipe.
Check the saved file before importing it
Open the newest WAV from your Downloads folder and listen through the last word. Confirm that the selected format matches your editor's import setting. All three choices are uncompressed mono PCM; this page does not export stereo, MP3 or a telephone codec.
Scroll the table sideways on smaller screens.
| Problem | Next action |
|---|---|
| The editor rejects the default 8-bit WAV | Select a 16-bit format here, regenerate and download it. If the editor needs stereo or a codec, convert it in that editor. |
| Several files are missing | Check multiple-download permissions, then try a single line. |
| The words run together | Increase Speed for slower speech, or split the script into separate files. |
| An ending is cut off | Test the final word alone and check both the source WAV and the editor's clip boundary. |
| 48 kHz sounds as grainy as the original | That is expected. Resampling changes compatibility, not the source voice detail. |
Which voice engine is used here?
This tool uses sam-js, a JavaScript port of Software Automatic Mouth. Microsoft Sam and Software Automatic Mouth are different speech systems. Labels such as Mike, Mary and RoboSoft identify this site's parameter presets; they do not load the original Microsoft or SAPI4 voice binaries.
Frequently asked questions
Is the WAV download free?
The on-page generator provides WAV downloads without a checkout step.
Can I download a 48 kHz WAV directly?
Yes. Select Video projects · 48,000 Hz / 16-bit, then Generate and Download WAV. The page converts the original source while preserving its duration and pitch.
Does a 16-bit export improve the sound?
It changes the storage format for compatibility. The voice still originates from the engine's 22,050 Hz, 8-bit output, so it does not gain new detail.
Can I download MP3 directly?
This page exports mono PCM WAV. Convert a copy in an audio editor if your destination needs MP3.
Does the download install Microsoft Sam?
No. It is an audio clip made with the site's SAM engine, not software for installing a Windows voice.
